Video Progress Journal

I wish that I had had the presence of mind to take more videos.  I want to share what I do have with you because sometimes it helps to have a visual.  For me, looking back on these video clips, inspire me to keep moving forward.  There are days when I feel that my progress is becoming stagnant and I have to remind myself of how far I have come.  I have to remind myself that every teenie-weenie bit of improvement is a huge step in my recovery.   These video clips also allow me to laugh at myself.  For heaven sake, I would never have been seen in public looking the way I do in some of these clips but here I am posting them for the world to see.  Good lawd!  I have no shame anymore if it means that someone else can gain from these postings.  I say to anyone else who is being challenged in their life…… KEEP IT MOVING!

  1. My experience is eerily similar to yours.
I was at a pool party in Palm Springs this past Labor Day weekend. When I got home I found my toes were numb and when I went to the bathroom had numbness in my groin area and genitals .
Next morning I found that my feet and ankles were covered with bites. Meantime my foot and ankles had gone numb and I had no feeling from the waist down.
When I went to my doctor he dismissed the bug bites saying since they were not infected they were not the cause and I never mentioned it to the neurologist that I seen since then.
Since then I’ve been diagnosed with transverse myletiis confirmed by an MRI and treated with steroids. Two months later I am 90% recovered and not endure the ordeal you did! But still a very frightening experience

My question to you is do you feel that what happened to you was caused by a brown recluse spider bite?

Other accounts I’ve read about people getting the brown recluse spider bite are very very similar to what I experienced.

    • Hello Derek,

Thank you for commenting on my blog 🙂

I am so happy that you are at a 90% recovery. I’m still working my way towards that and it has been 7 years! You know, at this stage of the game, I think that anything is possible. My diagnosis was “Ideopathic” Transverse Myelitis. A fancy way to say that they haven’t a clue as to why or how it happened.

If you are ever in Palm Springs again, let me know…… lets do lunch! 🙂
